It is nearly certain that the John Lawrence who m. Elizabeth Bull was
NOT a son of William and Katherine (Beaumont) Lawrence. John and
Elzabeth (Bull) Lawrence were the grandparents of the immigrant
Lawrences of Ipswich, Mass., and Long Island, and the royal line comes
through Elizabeth Bull.
William and Katherine (Beaumont) Lawrence did have a son John bp. at
St. Albans Abbey, St. Albans, Hertfordshire, on 2 or 12 Jan. 1561/2.
There is no reason to believe that this John was the man who m.
Elizabeth Bull at St. Andrews, Hertford, Hertfordshire, on 9 Nov. 1579
and began having children in 1580. If he were, he was not yet 18 when

this line: has anyone ever attempted to research a
possible connection of Katherine Beaumont who married
William Lawrence (ancestor of Jane Lawrence Giddings)
to the Beaumont families of the Earl(s) of Buchan or
Baron(s) of Beaumont?
