Hi guys, this is from the Rotuli Scotiae, vol. 1, p. 300b. Dated 8 Edw III (1334).

https://books.google.es/books?id=Ty5KAQAAMAAJ&printsec=frontcover#v=onepage&q&f=false

Mandatum de arrestando sagittarios militiam detrectantes, et eorum terras et bona capiendo in manum regis.

There then follows a list of archers from the Harthill Wapentake of Yorkshire.

Is this an order to arrest them, or an order giving them freedom of arrest?

Thanks for any help

These archers had shirked military service, so they were to be detained
with their lands and property confiscated.
