The problem lies with the un-named brother of Arthur Goodwin and his daughter
So, before I spend time investigating them, has anyone got any views
about Mary Goodwin and her unknown father, who is reported to be brother
to Francis Goodwin?

The career of Sir Francis Goodwin (1564-1634), MP, of Upper Winchendon, Buckinghamshire and Westminster, Middlesex has been extensively studied as part of the History of Parliament project. In that study, it is stated that Sir Francis Goodwin had "2s. inc. Arthur* (1 d.v.p.)."[1] These abbreviations signify Sir Francis had two sons, one named Arthur, who also became a Member of Parliament, and another son who died during the lifetime of his father. In Sir Francis's will, he refers to Arthur Goodwin as "my deere and only Sonne."[2] In the 1634 Visitation of Buckingham, made by John Philipot, Esq., Somerset Herald, et al, Sir Francis is shown to have only one son who had issue, Arthur Goodwin.[3] There was a discussion in Caribbeana about Burke's claim that Sir Francis Goodwin had a younger son Robert Goodwin who had a daughter Mary that married William Ricketts of Jamaica. Burke's claims were rejected by Caribbean experts.[4]

Dear Nathan, https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Goodin-240 makes a very good case that Mary was a Goodin instead of a Goodwin.
